Episode 53

General Summary

• The giant ape attacks the party, grabbing some sort of handheld lightning cannon and discharging it at Godric and Leah.
• It tries to escape, but is kept in place by Godric. The beast is eventually dealt enough damage to revert back to it's true form - The Biomancer
• The Biomancer attempts to escape with defensive spellcraft, but is slowed by Leah's magical dispelling. Eventually he is held in place and has no choice but to surrender.
• The party speak with the strange fish-man, who seems happy to answer any questions the party ask - in the hopes of being spared
• The Biomancer reveals some forgotten memories from Atlas' past, confirming that it was he who created the Changelings, amongst other things
• As the party decide not to keep the man alive, he makes a final plea for his life. The Biomancer can operate the portal, allowing the party to teleport immediately back to Kureta City... giving them somewhere between an 11 and 13 days' head-start on the goblin army that now marches for the capital
• The rescued elf is revealed to be Sophitia Mason. She was forced to reveal many secrets of the elves to the Nakabans, something she fears will lead to big trouble down the line
• The party agree to keep The Biomancer alive (for now), tying the man up as they go to rescue Devianne
• The Power sector of the complex opens with the Biomancer's key. A few guardians seem to remain behind to protect this area, but are dispatched with little trouble.
• In this area, the party find a workshop where the Nakaban's seem to have produced their strange machinery, as well as where the Oozes were likely produced.
• Following the black power cables, the party find what looks to be a large bird, formed of pure lightning, trapped in a cage. The beast seems to be the power source for the whole lab, as the room crackles with electricity.
• The party debate releasing the creature, but the realisation that the portal may cease to function (and the prisoners may escape) persuades them not to
• In the western section of this area, the real Knight Commander is finally found
• Devianne is filled in on everything the party has discovered, as the group make their way back to the portal
• The Biomancer is untied and allowed to manipulate the portal to take the group home
• Without any way of knowing for sure where the portal will take them, the party tentatively step through the now silver-coloured mist, to whatever awaits them...
