Personal history
Silas's mother was a King's Keep servant.
They lived a simple life in the servant district.
When Silas was 11, his little sister Merula was born.
When Silas was 15 the Royal Fever wiped through the district and the keep, killing his mother and leaving him to care for his 4 year old sister.
Like many of the orphans, he was offered to join the Loyalists. It would mean giving up his sister to another family or even an orphanage. Silas refused
Will not many options for a young boy, he worked doing odd jobs and as a stablehand.
Servants had to work in the King's Keep and pay a fee for the house, in order to stay in the district.
With payments due and food running low, Silas wore a plain cloak and stole food and money from the market when it was busy. Too fast for the merchants, he made it back to his sister.
He never let her know where he got things from. Continuing to steal to keep her happy and safe.
When Silas was 19 he got caught stealing the coin purse of a noble woman, the same woman that his mother worked for, he was angry she lived. He ran home, chased by guards, startling his sister. As he was being dragged out his sister panicked cried could be heard. Birds started to swoop down upon the guards. They wouldn't let them anywhere near Silas. More guards came to see her surrounded by blackbirds, screaming at them to let her brother go. They called the Loyalists, who promised her that if she calmed down, they wouldn't hurt her. They promised Silas that they would both die if she didn't. She screamed at him to run, sending birds to peck at his hair and arms. He fled, promising to come back for her. He never saw her again.
Angry and heartbroken Silas took to robbing Loyalists Temples and caravans, eventually finding people like his sister, those with Gifts. He couldn't keep her safe but he would keep them safe or die trying.
He now runs the Gifted Rebellion Group, rescuing prisoners any chance he gets, hoping to find his sister.
