Duran (DOO-ran)

A Resident/non-CCN

Duran ó Camelot

Duran, son of Artorius, was born into the legendary kingdom of Camelot. From an early age, he was surrounded by the grandeur and nobility of his father's court. His mother, though often a background figure in the tales of Camelot, raised him with a gentle but firm hand, instilling in him a sense of honor and duty. Duran grew up with the weight of his lineage on his shoulders, always striving to live up to the legacy of his father, the great King Arthur.   As he matured, Duran displayed a natural aptitude for leadership and combat, much like his father. However, he also possessed a keen intellect and a compassionate heart, which endeared him to the people of Camelot. Despite his noble status, he was approachable and kind, often mingling with the common folk and listening to their concerns. His close relationship with his father, Arthur, and the knights of the Round Table, particularly Sir Gawain, shaped him into a well-rounded and formidable young man.   When Duran came of age, it became clear that he would need a protector, someone who could be trusted implicitly. Sanddef, a knight known for his loyalty and strength, was chosen for this role. Their relationship began as one of duty but soon evolved into a deep bond of friendship and mutual respect. Duran admired Sanddef's unwavering dedication and often sought his counsel in matters both personal and political. The two became inseparable, facing numerous challenges and adventures together.   The defining moment of their lives came during the Battle of Camlann. In the chaos and bloodshed of the battlefield, Duran was gravely injured, distracted by what he believed to be the death of his father. In a desperate bid to save him, Sanddef carried the wounded prince to Avalon, a mystical island known for its healing properties. As they reached Avalon, the island receded into the mists, transporting them to Tir na nOg, a realm of eternal youth and peace. There, Duran's recovery was overseen by Emaré, a wise and compassionate priestess. The three of them formed an unbreakable bond, finding solace and love in each other's company as they began their new life together in the magical land of Tir na nOg.

A guardian’s strength, a charge’s fall
From silent hearts, love did call
Through trials faced, their bond revealed,
Eternal fate, together sealed.

Dearly and belovedly his mother raised him.
