Sanddef (SAND-dev)

A Resident/non-CCN

Sanddef (a.k.a. Sandde Bryd Angel)

Sanddef was born to a modest family in a small village near Camelot. His father, a blacksmith, was renowned for crafting some of the finest swords and armor in the land. His mother, a healer, was well-respected for her knowledge of herbs and remedies. From a young age, Sanddef was trained in the ways of both combat and care, embodying the balance between strength and compassion. His upbringing instilled in him a deep sense of duty and a desire to protect those who could not protect themselves.   At the age of sixteen, Sanddef's bravery during a raid on his village caught the attention of Sir Gawain, one of the Knights of the Round Table. Gawain, impressed by Sanddef's courage and skill, took him under his wing, bringing him to Camelot to be his squire. Under Gawain's mentorship, Sanddef honed his abilities and quickly earned a reputation for his unwavering loyalty and sharp mind. His dedication and prowess in battle soon earned him a place among the knights, where he was known for his quiet strength and keen perception.   When Duran, the son of King Arthur, came of age, he required a protector—someone who could be trusted implicitly. Given their shared training and the rapport they had developed, Sanddef was chosen for this duty. His initial stern demeanor belied the deep care he felt for the young prince. Over time, Sanddef's role as protector evolved into one of companionship, with a bond that was tested through many trials. Despite the growing closeness, Sanddef always prioritized his duties as a guardian, viewing Duran as his charge above all else.   During the final battle at Camlann, Duran was grievously injured, distracted by what he believed to be the death of his father, Arthur. Driven by fear and duty, Sanddef swept the injured prince up and raced to nearby Avalon for healing. As they reached Avalon, the island receded into the mists, transporting them to Tir na nOg, a realm of eternal youth and peace. There, Duran's healing was attended to by Emaré, a priestess. The three of them formed a deep and enduring relationship, bound by their shared experiences and the trials they had faced together.

A guardian’s strength, a charge’s fall
From silent hearts, love did call
Through trials faced, their bond revealed,
Eternal fate, together sealed.
