To Raid A Dragons Lair
A party from the guild consisting of
- Lady Layla III a mysterious sorceress
- Varían a patient wizard
- Orín a careful Ranger
- Althgore a headstrong barbarian
- Tegwyn a stalwart Druid
- Old Groon a powerful paladin
- And Adran Lunawatch a loyal druid
The party arrived at the excavation rumoured to be a blue dragons lair. Their goal to steal a box of great important to Adrans patron Aurora. The barbarian determined stealth would be a waste of time and rushed the front guards, unfortunately they were ready for an assault. Despite taking some damage Tegwyn in her bear form tore apart the guard and Althgore cleaved the wizard in two.
They discovered many corpses of different creatures within the cavern.
They surprised a second set of guards and the wizard quickly dispatched them with a fireball and the Ranger picked off the last. They found the lair of the dragon and he revealed himself. The paladin launched an offence but the entire party took the full force of its lightning breath. They decided to abscond with the box and escape as the dragon was too powerful. The rangers drake stole the box and they made a run for it. The Druid used her magical dust to turn those next to herself invisible but the dragon still took its strike. As Láyla and Orin escaped the way they came the others left via a secret passage.
Adran despite being incredibly wounded and only able to walk from healing by the party saw the desperate situation. The party struggle to open the barricaded trap door, instead of allowing the dragon to breathe it’s lightning up the stairway surely killing his friends he decided to act. The Druid and Wizard promised to get the chest to safety, Adran in a desperate attempt to buy time invoked all the power at his disposal and was able to buy the precious few seconds to allow the group to escape. They all reconvened at the carriage, delivering the box to the courier eagle. They waited for Adran but Althgore stated he saw him fall to the dragons lightning attack. Adran in his last breath covered the exit in thorny vines, allowing the party enough time to escape the area.
They all knew he was gone, along the road back to the guild they passed the outskirts of the Auroral forest and heard the cries of mourning and a wail possibly belonging to Aurora.
The chest was secured but at great cost…
