Breac's Guild report - 0.0.20 agf

The Merry folk of Crystalmere

Guild agents Tel, Gil, Ace, Zelda and Bolk were sent north to Crystalmere lake to enquire with the locals as to the presence of any diamond mines, and to keep an eye out for Breac Sunfist's god-daughter Miko who has gone missing. They found the town of Maloke and were tasked by Baron Tsenvar with dealing with a local bandit problem that was preventing the townsfolk from working the mines.

The 'bandits' were not difficult to spot, likely because they consisted of old men and children who had escaped the Baron. Three weeks ago (roughly in line with Guildfall) the Baron had rapidly changed from being a predictably greedy but typical example of the robber barons of the area to becoming a cruel tyrant who sold his people into slavery - all supposedly with the blessing of the guild. The agents met Veronica, a halfling woman leading the refugees and rebels of Maloke.

The guild agents were tracked to the rebel encampment, and 'Baron Tsenvar' used the oppertunity to attack both the guild agents and Veronica as they were gathered in one place. The Baron was revealed to be disguised - the disguise dropped revealed a white-haired man dressed in black and silver robes eerily similar to William 'Whisper' Bregan. After a brief conflict 'Whisper' fled into the night. The true baron was found dead in his home from injuries that left no visible mark.

The agents reported to Breac Sunfist, who assures us all that from the detail of the reports given it is highly unlikely the figure present at the fight was indeed Whisper himself. It seems once again someone is intent on framing the guild in a poor light with the locals. That same someone seems to want us to think, for whatever reason, that Whisper is alive.

Miko Tanner is still missing.
