The Guild's ill-fated expedition into the Galslavan Tablelands has drawn to a close as The Sire of Insanity's assault was driven back long enough for the Guild to withdraw and retreat. Nevertheless, 5 of the 30 or so members who went on the expedition lie dead.

The survivors travelled south towards the small town of Exidios in order to seek shelter and rest and recuperate following the battle. The procession arrived and were treated with some suspicion by the local Exidions due to the unexpected size of the group, but the Guild were able to successfully persuade their way into the town and wish to stay there a few days. They then learned there was meant to be a meeting of the Town Council that night, but throughout the day Thea, one of the Guild's druids, noticed an individual acting suspiciously and trying to avoid being noticed, armed with a concealed dagger. Thea followed them as a wild shaped rat but this woman left the town into the forests and she did not pursue any further.

That night, the Guild learned that this individual was missing and hadn't yet returned and the Town Council were expecting her presence. When the Guild mentioned seeing her leave earlier in the day, the Exidions explained that they were now the primary suspects for her disappearance as they had seen her last and had only arrived that day under unusual circumstances. They were given until the morning to find the missing individual, Reyphine Silentspirit, or they would be arrested on suspicion of her murder. The Guild set about seeking her, and were told by a local Owl that Reyphine had broken into the nearby Fort Silverspear currently occupied and controlled by The Silverspear mercenaries.

Upon breaking in through a keep on the fort in a window, they were immediately confronted by Reyphine, who was lying in hiding with a dagger drawn. The Guild members talked the situation down and explained that they'd come looking for her specifically as they were suspects for her disappearance and had been worried, and earlier saw her sneak out of town. Reyphine explained that she'd come to the Fort to, 'settle a personal matter,' with one of the Silverspears - a man by the name of Rolph who she had a relationship with but disappeared for 5 years only to recently return. He had not said goodbye to her or came to see her upon his return and she had learned that he had in fact starting seeing other people and she was furious and here to get revenge.

To Reyphine's surprise however, the Guild members who broke into the castle with her were willing to go with her to confront Rolph and take her side in the dispute, which Reyphine took as implied permission to follow through with her murder plot on Rolph. The Guild kicked in a door to a mess hall only to find Rolph present there with 8 of his Silverspear mercenaries by his side... And exchanging in merriment and romance with Reyphine's own sister, Crystal... And an armed confrontation and fight is about to break out which could have greater ramifications for the nearby town of Exidios.
