Ivory Buroplazia

This tower rests on the north-east outskirts of the city, on the back of the School of Astromancy, where those who built it hoped no one would ever notice it. It houses those city beaurocrats, scholarly historians and temple functionaries that perform critical, necessary roles in the Empire, but would get underfoot in the Imperial Palace.

As Empress O'Mala tries to decentralise the Empire and bring an end to the incesant infighting between the priesthood and the magocracy, more and more positions get shunted off to the Buroplazia and out of the direct control of the schools and temples. The tower has been steadily growing year by year under her rule. It grew taller than any temple in the city last decade, and now stands the third tallest tower in the city, behind the High Observatory and the Imperial Palace. At this rate of growth it will become the tallest tower in the world within the next 10 years.
