A Call from the Darkness

The guild followed directions from June Woodshimmerto a village stricken with madness… or so it seemed. There was a song in the air, a rhyme the party soon found themselves compelled to sing. June was already gone too far by the time they arrived, muttering about millers and hands and freedom and a shadow with no name.

The party tracked down a strange mystical book that the song appeared to be coming from but not before June, driven mad by the song, attempted to cut off her own hands. Battling June while trying to solve the case of the cursed rhyme, the party was torn at what to do. The sorcerer managed to fix the book, revealing the shadow that had plagued the town and cursed them all. But this being could not be fought with swords or arrows. As the rhyme told them, it had to be crushed.

The ranger lured the shadow to a nearby bell tower where they worked together to crush the spirit into nothing, they hoped. At least the singing stopped when the bell fell. But when they returned to the inn to check on June, she was gone. A party member reporting that she was last seen with a frightening Autumn Eladrin. All that remains was a single snowflake melting into a puddle of June’s blood.
