Miko Tanner
Miko Tanner's life began ordinarily enough in the frontier city of Estergord on a distant world. She spent her childhood days learning of commerce and history and preparing to take over her family's distribution business, but as is typical of halfling children her nights were spent absorbing tales of her father's adventures and stoking her own wonderlust. Her life was turned around in an instant when her mother was lost at sea, and on the same year her father never returned from a quest to find the Echo of Helenia's Hope. The orphaned halfling girl was taken to the Guild Hall under the protection of her uncle, Charles Penrose, and godfather Breac Sunfist.
She quickly became something of a specialist at blending into the heavy crowds of merchant squares and town bazaars. Seemingly at will she could capture the attention of all nearby with her trademark pink hair, then just as quickly disappear behind everyone's legs, never to be seen again. Within the hall, she was gregarious and her babbling conversation became a familiar sound within the tavern. Outside the hall she was quickly becoming a dependable and cunning agent and was developing something of a reputation as a treasure hunter. She held an odd facination with the surrounding world of Elanora, on which the Guild Hall sat but within which most guild members never ventured. Some scattered records not destroyed by Nathrael show several disciplinery actions taken against Miko when she 'borrowed' guild resources to help a local neighbour with their troubles, resources that had been marked to be used to fight an illithid invasion off-world.
Then the enchanter known as Whisper attacked the guild hall and killed Charles Penrose. Worse, Penrose was removed from existence itself, removing all memory of his identity, his name and face from everyone - even his closest friends and family. Whisper in turn would be hunted down and killed by a group of guild agents led by Sunfist the following week. Before Miko could even begin to get her life back in order, Guildfall occured.
Miko is hardly the only member of the guild still emotionally reeling from the tragedy of Nathrael's assault. But she is a much more reserved and withdrawn woman than the flighty teenage halfling with the blazing pink hair most surviving guild members recall scampering under their feet in the guild tavern. It remains to be seen if she will continue to bind her fortunes to a place that still carries so many painful memories for her. For good or ill though, her fortunes now appear bound to the Tower of the Magi - a glowing blue square has appeared on her skin at the back of her neck.
