Oswald's Guild report - 0.1.11

Different Perspective

Guild agents were sent to escort Oswald Smith to retrieve a book stolen from the Fugit Incantationis in Tempus Fugit . The book thankfully had a retrieval mechanism built into it, so tracking the thief was not required - what was required was a complicated ritual involving clues left behind throughout the school's library.

Several paintings could be stepped into as pocket dimensions. Phrases to the ritual were hidden on scraps of parchment within these paintings. The paintings included an abstract universe of swirling blue and green ink, a waterfall, an odd zombie-looking creature guarding a bridge on a painting that almost melted when the agents stepped inside it, and a scene of a constallation with glowing blue orbs.

Once in possession of all 4 phrases of the ritual, Oswald and company were attacked by 2 animated suits of armor. Whoever or whatever was maintaining the spell of animation was not found, but the guild was successful in defeating the constructs and accessing the ritual chamber. There they succeeded in bringing the missing book back from whereever it had been taken. Oswald got a look at the book, and further knowledge pertaining to its contents has been deemed restricted to senior Guild Council members only.
