Verilux

Verilux (pronounced Vair-ill-lucks), is the Elarian greater deity of magic, spellcraft, knowledge, and enlightenment. The Lord of the Art tends to the Tides constantly, making possible all the miracles and mysterious wrought by magic and users of magic. He is believed to be the embodiment of the Tides and of magic itself.

Personality

Verilux is the incarnation of all magic, primarily presiding over arcane arts. He is a wisened elderly man, strong-willed, and even-tempered. He seeks only to expand the use of magic at any cost, cutting off any who would seek to restrict or end the use of it anywhere. He encourages his faithful to spread the use and knowledge of magic at any cost and through any means, particularly to areas that would seek to hide the knowledge of how to use The Art.

Powers

Verilux holds in secret that he is stronger than almost any other god worshipped throughout Elaris, gaining strength from any mortal who draws upon the Tides or magic at all. However, roughly half of his power lies sequestered away, unable to be called upon. This power is used to monitor and repair the Tides as well as being invested into Verilux's Chosen.
Due to having so much of his power spread throughout the Tides, Verilux is extremely difficult to find, much less target or harm. As the Lord of Spells, he is the source of other gods' spellcraft, making him normally immune to the direct effects of such spells, though not its after-effects.
