Drakthyr

Once upon a time the might of Drakthyr rivaled that of Kalabash. The War of Extermination however, forever crippled Darkthyr's power in the world. Due to losing so many of their own, the snowy mountains of Drakthyr are filled with abandoned structures and mostly destroyed towns that were once densely populated. This has led to many small-time outlaws and other intelligent creatures choosing to make their home here. Despite the potential threat these bandits and creatures may pose to The Drakthyr Monarchy, the kingdom is largely unaffected. This is most likely due to the fact that the kingdom enacts swift justice upon those that threaten it's denizens. So, the bandits and creatures generally prey upon those who are not proven citizens of the monarchy.
Life in Drakthyr without the monarchy's protection is highly dangerous and very brutal. The Drakthyr Monarchy is not opposed to accepting outsiders within their towns and villages, in fact it is quite the opposite. Many who come to seek a new life in Drakthyr are often displeased with the taxation the monarchy places upon it's denizens. This leads some to try and live outside the monarchy's scope, though most are unready and end up either robbed of all possessions or dead. Some denizens have begun to call for a reform, but these ideals are quickly squashed by The Scale Breakers. This has lead to most of the poorer class people dissatisfied with The Drakthyr Monarchy and desperate for change.
