Half Orc

Once a rarity on Eldarr, half orcs are now not just the product of a rare rape. The majority of present day half orcs are the result of a breeding program coupling orc females and brutal human warriors of the Acheron  armies. Emperor Coaltongue wanted to have troops in his army that combined the strength and brutality of the orcs with the intelligence and loyalty of the humans. Coaltongue was largely successful, and a number of half orcs have since left the army after exemplary service. Coaltongue is tolerant of the half orcs eventually leaving after a sufficient amount of service, as the half orcs tend to integrate, admittedly at the margins, into the societies they are embedded into. The more subjects that are at least impartial to his rule, the fewer problems with insurgency he has, and Emperor Coaltongue’s veterans are very well looked after for this reason.   Half orcs excel in situations where they can bring their great strength to bear, including defeating their enemies. Most half orcs, after leaving Acheron service, will acts as caravan guards, mercenaries, hired toughs, or will join local militaries. Other will take up more domestic roles where their strength is an asset, such a farming, warehouse and dock worker, sailors, or even as adventurers.   Where half orcs have trouble is in areas where their fearsome perspective and genetic legacy are held against them. Too many people have suffered or know someone who has suffered the predations of the mighty orc warriors of the Manforge Mountains, and the obvious orc features of half orcs are too bitter a reminder of those troubles. Most half orcs are treated with disdain or hatred, although most are cautious about angering the half orc in question. Thus, they remain outsiders in society, wanted by neither race, having no family or place to call home.
