CyDocs are the heart and soul of Acostead. Their shops can be found all around the city where they sell and install various cyberware implants. While most cyberware brokers perform safe surgeries, there are plenty of black market and back alley ones with zero formal training or safety measures in place.
CyDoc Mechanics
When a player wants to have their cyberware changed or new augments installed, they must undergo a surgical process performed by their local CyDoc. The time it takes depends on the tier and location of cyberware. Refer to the below table for the required length of time to install a specific augment.Cyberware Installation Time

Qualifications
In order to open up a shop, CyDocs must study at the Stegpoint Cybernatics University of Augmentation and Cyberware for six years before being allowed to sell and install cyberware. After completing their training, they receive a certificate they are required to keep in the front of their shop.
Other Benefits
Besides being paid in credits, even the lowliest of CyDocs have a lot of social cred as they are the only ones who can supply citizens with cyber augments. They also receive a small stipulation from the corporations as long as they are currently employed by Stegpoint Cybernatics. This leads to most CyDocs remaining with Stegpoing Cybernatics, versus striking out on their own.
Operations
Tools
CyDocs utilize a large variety of tools in their trade from scalpels to laser surgical tools which are used to install augments into their customers. These tools are provided and maintained by Stegpoint Cybernatics, though many cyberware brokers make heavy modifications to their setups.
Black market CyDocs will often utilize older tech that can be faulty or cause complications during the installation of various augments. Some can even have various viruses installed that can cause a myriad of issues with a person's cyberware and even cause death.
Workplace
Due to the duality of their work, CyDocs tend to have a workplace that is separated into the front selling area and the back where they perform surgeries. There tends to be a surgical table and chair in the back, and the sound of whirring and clicking can constantly be heard.
If you visit a black market CyDoc then you will also likely hear a lot of screaming as they tend to not have anesthesia available for their customers. However this also occurs with certified brokers as there are certain implants that no matter of pain medications will help with.
Demand
CyDocs are in high demand as they both sell and install cyberware into their customers.
