The Drowned Tower

Purpose / Function
The original purpose for this tower is unknown as is the date of it's construction, however it does appear in historical records and maps dated from before the Age of Peace. Over the years, many myths and legends regarding the tower have spawned, as they tend to regarding ancient unknowns.
Some say that the tower was built by an exiled wizard from Evarra whose magical experiments caused his tower to sink. Others say that the tower sank when the Traskan Land Bridge was destroyed, becoming structurally unsound following the geological upheaval, taking it's vast wealth of artifacts and knowledge with it.
Regardless of the veracity of these stories, they remain unproven. The frozen waters surrounding the tower remain treacherous in places. The safest route of approach is said to be along the ice above the stone bridge to the tower from the Eastern bank, though there are still reports of adventuring parties falling through weak sections of the ice and becoming macabre decoration on the underside.
The apex of the doors are visible just above the water, rendering them impenetrable. Whatever lies inside remains a mystery. Perhaps, someday, an intrepid traveler will prize the doors open to reveal the ancient contents.
