The Church of St. Dorma
It's fitting, don't you think Baltamald? The ruins of the church dedicated to extricate Amynd from worship and demonize him now housing his children in secret. Beautiful irony.
Purpose / Function
The original church was built to house the crusader of Myrada back when worship of Amynd was common. It served as a base of operations for the effort to eliminate worship of the death god and denounce him as evil. After a long and arduous campaign, Dorma succeeded in eliminating traces of the death god. After her death she was raised to sainthood and the building was converted into a church. After several hundred years the church was abandoned in it's entirety and was lost to the weeds.
After King Helvick Steelheart took the throne, a sect calling themselves the Disciples of Dorma petitioned to use the ruins and restore them to their former glory. The kind king granted them this request and work began to restore the structure. They currently occupy the church, using it for shelter and worship.
Alterations
The main chamber has had it's statue to St. Dorma removed and replaced with a depiction of Myrada. The stone pews have been replaced with carved wooden ones. The monks open quarters have been renovated to be individual rooms with door locks. The basement pantry has been halved, a wall barricading off half of the church's size with a hidden door on the pretense of the area being filled with dirt and irreparable, however, the area has been converted into another worship room. Pillows and mats are laid out to sit on, surrounding a statue of Amynd.
History
The building was commissioned by Lady Helena Dorma, a crusader of the old church based in (continent agaland is on) during the decline of Amynd worship. It served as a base of operations for her followers and a refuge for those who sought to repent for worshiping dark gods.
