The Order of the Arcane Scepter
Structure
The Order of the Arcane Scepter is a multi-tiered organization. The Grand Archmage is the highest-ranking individual within the Order, they oversee and hold the ultimate authority. They are required to set direction and represent the Order on all matters.
Under the Grand Archmage is the Council of Masters. This council is made of 6 senior members of the Order and acts as an advisory body. Along with providing counsel, knowledge, and guidance, they are expected to vote and help the Grand Archmage make important decisions.
Next is the Headmaster/mistress, who oversees the academy and education. They might hold a seat on the Council of Masters but if not they are brought in often to share what has been happening in the academy. A headmaster/mistress is responsible for maintaining standards of magical training and ensuring everyone is properly trained.
Professors and Instructors work closely with the headmaster/mistress to create curriculum and teach within the Order. They often take on a mentor like position with one or two students each year.
Spellmasters are on the same level as professors but specialize in branches of magic and oversee magical research happening within their branch. They also might take on a mentor like role occasionally.
Scribes and Librarians are responsible for the cataloging and preserving of magical artifacts, including texts, ancient scrolls, and artifacts. They contain vast knowledge and are trained in locating and retrieving specific information when needed. They also take on a mentorship role with multiple students each year.
You then have Wardens who are security of the Order. They protect not just the buildings but also any artifacts in possession of the Order. Within the Wardens there are tiers and a leader. One the higher tiers is in charge of protection of the Council and Grand Archmage.
Students and Apprentices are aspiring members of the Order. They undergo many years of training and education. Students are younger whose parents have sent them to the Order at a young age to be taught or at least one parent is part of the Order already. Apprentices are older often coming to the Order after finishing school in their town or village. Apprentices are expected to work for the Order or pay tuition like students. They can work in the kitchen, garden, cleaning staff, apothecary, stables, or as a warden.
Below the students and apprentices are the everyday staff that keep the Order running. Apprentices are often seen working these positions part-time.

Culture
The Order of the Arcane Scepter is a very formal academy and does not tolerate unruliness or improper use of magic. As a whole the culture of the Order revolves around the pursuit of knowledge and mastery of the arcane arts and magic. It values the preservation of traditional magic and the uncovering of lost magical knowledge. Though not everyone in the Order believes that traditional magic is the best way forward.
Public Agenda
In the public eye, the Order's goals are to train and preserve magic. Keeping this appearance by giving scholarships to a few students. They pay fairly for artifacts brought to them and appear to openly share the knowledge that has been collected.
Assets
The Order of the Arcane Scepter have many assets in the world of Eldrosia some of them lost due to the Shattering. They have multiple buildings in all the realms and still have magical artifacts and texts in those buildings. The buildings in realms beyond Faerystone are no longer accessible. The list of owned and accessible assets inculde; magical artifacts, libraries of knowledge, academy and housing buildings, magical creatures, and financial resources.
History
The Order was founded well before the Shattering took place. In the beginning it was a more public society wanting to share the magical knowledge with the rest of Eldrosia and often traveled the the other countries (now realms) to share and find more knowledge. The longer the Order was around the more closed off and secretive they became however still appearing to be the friendly and knowledge sharing society it began as.
In 597 BS the Grand Archmage Emerick (halfling) closed the buildings of the Order to everyone but the Arcanists allowing only a few of the public in a year to view the libraries. He also stopped taking in students shortly after, leading to the Order almost dying off. People who believed the knowledge should be shared publicly left the Order and often became private tutors for people they thought had potential. Emerick died after a long 114 years of holding the postion and Sapphria took over as the Grand Archmage. Upon taking her position she reopened the Order for students and apprentices but kept the Order closed to the public allowing a handful of the public in each year. Sapphria died shortly before the Shattering and Ashryn Ralodithas took the position as Grand Archmage.
Soon after Ashryn took the position the Shattering happened and the Order was broken up as people became stuck on different realms. In 16 AS Rosavis Beinan was voted to take over as Grand Archmage in Faerystone where the office for the Order was based as Ashryn was stuck in another realm.
Rosavis began to rebuild The Order of the Arcane Scepter. The rebuild did not go back to a fully public society, it took on the form of an academy and what is known today. You could pay your way in as public if you wanted to see the information badly enough but there were no freebies to getting inside. Many centuries later the Order began to hand out scholarships and try to repair the image of the Order in the eyes of the public and started to let in scholars from other schools very occasionally for a trade of some kind.
