Irene's Self Sacrifice
Those who believe in the Self Sacrifice of Irene are often fanatics or simply very dedicated followers of hers. They believe that she sacrifices a part of herself so that we mortals may experience the miracles of magic.
The theory states that around the time the year turns a new leaf, there will be a night with a great storm. During that night Irene the Goddess of Magic stabs herself a magical dagger, letting her blood drip down to the mortal planes mixed in with the rain. From there her blood mixes with the air, sinks into the dirt and flows into all of us in a form that wizards and other casters have learnt to manipulate to create the wonders we know as magic. The blood of Irene can as such be found in life itself. It exists in the crops we eat, the water we drink. Many as a result say that a piece of Irene is with everyone and everything, and therefore she watches over us all.
