The Assault of Baymoor
Following their defeat in the forests of Darkwood, the The Elladonian Army was now fleeing from Therian forces. They did not know exactly what strength the Therians had, as the latter couldn’t pursue and fight the Elladonians in open battle.
The army scoured the lands, sweeping towns until they ended up at Baymoor. The port city was an important cornerstone of Theria, since many resources required were traded through there. Holding control of Baymoor would let the Elladonian forces starve out the Therians much sooner.
The siege began, with a small fleet of frigates coming down from Asladon to blockade the city. Catapults and Ballistae fired upon the ships attempting to form a perimeter for days on end. Lacking winds and a fire upon one of the ships and subsequent accident, maneuvering was difficult. Nonetheless, after a week a successful siege was set up, slowly starving out Baymoor. The Therian army had at this point stocked up at Dunia and made their way out east to face the Elladonians. General Ravencrest set up his forces to meet them by the beach, in parallel to the sea. Through support from their navy the Elladonians managed to pelt and wittle down the Therian forces enough to make a battle non-profitable for the latter. However, the squandered time meant the Therians could extract most of their forces and resources from Baymoor during all of this, leaving behind only a skeleton crew to protect the city and buy them as much time as possible.
The siege lasted another week until a large assortment of rafts and ferries were constructed, sending in forces from both the sea- and the landside in a daring allround attack. The few troops still stationed in Baymoor couldn’t cover all their walls and were quickly overrun and forced to surrender the fortified city.
