Festival of Lisandria

Occurs every year on the last Moonday on the month of Lisandrium.   This is a festival that involves celebrating the dead, and the spirit of the departed. The day of the festival begins very somber, with a procession through town where residents hold a portrait or a belonging of the deceased loved one, and ends at the cemetery. At the conclusion of the procession, the priest/priestess of the town/city says a prayer to the Goddess Lisandria to usher the souls of the departed to the afterlife.    Afterwards the festivities pick up late in the afternoon and into the evening where the celebrations last until midnight.    The scale of the festival depends on where the festival is being held.
  • For example, the Festival of Lisandria is a bigger deal in Faerun where she is one of the city's patron goddess, as opposed to a smaller town like Feyruit where it still celebrated, but the scale is not as grand.
  • History

The tradition was started by the Onyx Order(The clergy who worships Lisandria). Who believed that there is a stronger connection to their deity on days associated with the specific deity and it is further amplified during their dedicated month of worship.
