Duty is vital, understanding is not. Serve none but Rahnera and fear her always. The Black Hand always strikes down those who stand against it in the end. Defy Rahnera and die–or in death find loyalty to her, for she shall compel it. True power can only be gained through service to her. Let your weapon be zeal and your armor contempt. The world is filled with pain and torment, and the best that one can do is to suffer those blows that cannot be avoided and deal as much pain back to those who offend. Reveal secrets only to fellow members of the faithful. Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment–never follow it or turn to promises of success. Quench the light of the moons whenever you find it, and hide from it when you cannot prevail. The dark is a time to act, not wait. All things end in tragedy–face it now, while the burden is light. Suffocate the false hopes of love where you find them, for trust is the fool’s ally. In loss, the Dark Mother will comfort.
Cover all the lands with ice. Quench fire wherever it is found. Let in the winds and the cold; cut down windbreaks and chop holes in walls and roofs that my breath may come in. Work darkness to hide the cursed sun so that the chill that Avotz brings may slay. There is honor in hardship and only the hardened should inherit the land. Make all Tel’Drannar fear the Frostmaiden.
As the cosmos rhymes, so too must justice. Revenge is sweetest when it is sharpened with irony. Forget not; forgive nothing. True strength rests in planning and preparedness. Plot for every variable and never be surprised–fight every battle a thousand times in your mind before taking the field. The greatest of schemes is a series of labyrinthine ploys and at its heart is all of the cosmos. Trust no one, not even the Poet of Justice.
