Grythrak
In the annuals of Aldvari, stories and nightmares are written about a being spoken about only in whispers.
Grythrak.
It, he, is written of as a towering beastly being, twice the mass of the most perfect of Aldvari men. Souless slits, voids of black hatred fiercly glaring down on his victims. Pale flesh wrapped tight against the throat of its' target, as black tendrils of shadow ripe the victim apart.
With such stories come tales of what the Aldvari call Abyssal Flames, black fire that consumes the physical and metaphysical, the mudane and magical alike.
Wherever this being treads, the feelings of dread and grief grip even the most hardened of warrior, reducing many of those left alive by Grythrak to quivering, shaking husks, grappeling with their most hated of memories and mistakes of their lifes.
Scholar Haedolin:
While the stories of this being are frightening in many regards, this stories are likely only the musings of ancients facing episodes of errant magical backfires. The magics of the ancients before the Great Nepenthe have in many instances seemed fanciful by accounts of the Aldvari that I have been allowed access to with my Wisedom Rune, so it would not surprise me if such disasters could result from the misuse of said magics.
Afterall, one can only imagine the existence of such a creature, by all acounts unkillable, unapproachable. Even with the supposed fanciful magics of the ancients they seemed unable to kill this being. Such a creature would likley have marched across the whole of Ellium, kiling everything, yet it seemingly disappeared from the face of history. The people of the Aldvari seemed to have outgrown the irration fears that spawned this being.
