Treaty of Good Faith

Following the end of the Centurion Wars, the Confederation of Elloría was formed with the creation and signing of the Treaty of Good Faith.

Purpose

The Treaty of Good Faith was created to keep the nations of the realm at peace and promote a more peaceful, prosperous Elloría.

The treaty begins with a preamble, elaborates on purpose and execution with ten articles, then concludes solidifying its validity.

Publication Status

Copies of the treaty have been replicated for academic and legal purposes throughout Elloría. However, the real copy resides in Illendíl where it is kept safe.

Legal status

This document is mutually enforced throughout the entire realm by all member nations.

Although the bond between the nations isn't governed strictly, that has permitted everyone to coexist peacefully in it's time since ratification.

Treaty of Good Faith

Preamble We, the sovereign nations of Elloría, having endured the devastation of the Centurion Wars, come together to forge a lasting peace and mutual cooperation. Recognizing our shared interests in security, prosperity, and harmony, we hereby establish the Confederation of Elloría. This confederation is founded on the principles of respect for sovereignty, non-aggression, and collective defense.

Article I: Establishment of the Confederation
1.1. The Confederation of Elloría (hereafter referred to as "the Confederation") is hereby established as a voluntary and perpetual alliance of the signatory nations.
1.2. The founding members of the Confederation are:

• Illendíl
• Müllittle
• Drazak-Ún
• Lothriel
• Tinkerton
• Elrengroth
• Babyl

Article II: Objectives and Principles 

2.1. The primary objectives of the Confederation are:

• To prevent the outbreak of wars and conflicts among member nations.
• To promote economic cooperation and mutual prosperity.
• To safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of member nations.
• To encourage cultural exchange and understanding among the peoples of Elloría.

2.2. The Confederation shall operate on the following principles:

• Respect for the independence and sovereignty of each member nation.
• Non-interference in the internal affairs of member nations.
• Peaceful resolution of disputes through dialogue and negotiation.
• Collective defense against external threats.

Article III: The Ellorían Senate

3.1. The Ellorían Senate is established as the supreme governing body of the Confederation, comprising representatives from each member nation.
3.2. Each member nation shall appoint one senator to the Ellorían Senate.
3.3. The Ellorían Senate shall meet annually, or as needed, to discuss matters of mutual concern and to make decisions on behalf of the Confederation.
3.4. Decisions of the Grand Council shall be made by consensus, with each representative having an equal voice.

Article IV: Collective Defense 

4.1. An attack on one member nation shall be considered an attack on all, and all members shall come to the defense of the nation under attack.
4.2. Each member nation shall contribute to a common defense force, which shall be used to deter and repel any external threats.
4.3. The defense force shall be commanded by a council of Kova Vanguard, under the oversight of the Ellorían Senate.

Article V: Economic Cooperation
5.1. The Confederation shall promote free trade and economic cooperation among member nations.
5.2. Barriers to trade, such as tariffs and quotas, shall be reduced or eliminated where possible.
5.3. Joint economic projects, such as infrastructure development and resource management, shall be encouraged.
5.4 To promote unity and ensure a healthy marketplace with limited inflation, all nations must adopt a gold standard currency.

Article VI: Cultural Exchange and Understanding
6.1. The Confederation shall promote cultural exchange programs to foster understanding and respect among the diverse peoples of Elloría.
6.2. Educational institutions and scholarly pursuits shall be supported and shared among member nations.
6.3. Festivals, artistic exchanges, and other cultural events shall be organized to celebrate the unique heritage of each member nation.

Article VII: Dispute Resolution
7.1. Any disputes between member nations shall be referred to the Ellorían Senate for mediation and resolution.
7.2. If the Ellorían Senate is unable to resolve a dispute, it shall be appointed to the panel of Oracle arbitrators to provide a binding resolution.

Article VIII: Admission of New Members
8.1. Nations wishing to join the Confederation shall submit a formal application to the Ellorían Senate, outlining their commitment to the principles and objectives of the Confederation.
8.2. The Ellorían Senate shall review the application and, upon unanimous approval, admit the applicant nation as a full member.
8.3. Upon admission, the new member nation shall appoint a representative to the Ellorían Senate and shall enjoy all rights and privileges of membership.
8.4. New member nations shall adhere to the obligations and responsibilities outlined in this treaty, including participation in collective defense and economic cooperation.

Article IX: Amendments and Ratification
9.1. Amendments to this treaty may be proposed by any member nation and shall be adopted by unanimous consensus of the Ellorían Senate.
9.2. This treaty shall be ratified by the governing bodies of the signatory nations and shall come into effect upon ratification by all founding members.

Article X: Withdrawal

10.1. Any member nation may withdraw from the Confederation by providing written notice to the Ellorían Senate.
10.2. Withdrawal shall take effect one year after notice is given, during which time the member nation shall fulfill its obligations under this treaty.

Conclusion
In witness whereof, the undersigned representatives, duly authorized by their respective governments, have signed this Treaty of Good Faith, establishing the Confederation of Elloría, on this day, June 18, 0, of the Fifth Age, in the city of Illendíl .
