Revolution

The Second Age began with the formation of the Kova Vanguard and the defeat of Severn, the tyrant king of Illendíl. Ever since then, the Vanguard has had an ever-present presence and influence in Illendíl and throughout Elloriía.

King Severn of Illendíl grew more and more worrisome as his rule went on. As a human, he feared the day of his death because he knew his line was ending without an heir and the future of the glorious kingdom would be in jeopardy- including his legacy. Instead of living the rest of his life in continued harmony, Severn instead resorted to scorched earth. No longer did he care of the relations that bound the realm together. Alliances were tarnished, people were starved, and he developed a severe and crippling dependency for Sundrop. Instead of behaving as an antidepressant, it only served to bury his paranoia and anger. His awful rule quickly earned him the subtitle as the sad king gone tyrannical. A small, young religious order was in its inception to the east and would not stand idly by while such horrors occurred. This group of knights and wizards campaigned across the lands for those who would answer the call to liberate the heart of Elloría from the clutches of Severn. With the assistance of several other growing tribes and villages, the holy warriors were able to penetrate Illendíl and reach the king. Instead of killing Severn, the order allowed him to surrender his weapon and retire in exile where his name would be lost with time being the last of his line. On that same day, the Kova Vanguard officially formed and with that, the oath for the protection of the Elloría and Illendíl.
