The Lost Mine of Phandelver
More than five hundred years ago, clans of dwarves and gnomes made an agreement known as the Phandelver's Pact, by which they would share a rich mine in a wondrous cavern. In addition to its mineral wealth, it is rumored that the mine contained great magical power. Times were good, and the nearby human town of Phandalin (pronounced fan-duh-lin) prospered as well. But then disaster struck when orcs swept through the North and laid waste to all in their path.
In the present day, a trio of dwarven brothers named Rockseeker have apparently discovered the location of the cave. But they are not the only ones interested in their discovery! Gundren Rockseeker, one of the three brothers, and a crafter from the city of Neverwinter, has need to make haste to Phandalin, but also requires a wagonload of goods & supplies be delivered to him there for which he cannot wait. He asked a young local bard he had befriended over the years, to find a group of people to help escort the wagon to Phandalin. Moving plans along as quickly as possible, Gundren soon set off with his friend and bodyguard, Sildar Halliwinter, in tow.
Quietly hoping that a small job would prove to be more exciting and lead to more opportunities, this newly assembled group of green adventurers may be in for more than they expected.
