The Aireki is an important position of responsibility within an Orisnuc sauri. Unlike other roles, an Aireki isn't a single person but a pair of individuals from the community. This role acts as what other settlements would understand as a the combination of mayor and head of a trade guild. People chosen to work as aireki are responsible for negotiating resources, trade with other sauri in a kowatek. The aireki also act as judges and arbiters in matters of law.
A pair of aireki are selected at random by lots from within the sauri, excluding those that are infirm, ill, or serving another role. Selection is done by the outgoing aireki and service is done for one year. Each year, only one aireki is replaced at a time.

Legends of Elohey is a work of pure, unabashed fiction. In fact, it considers itself rather fancy and quite proud of itself, when it isn’t worrying itself to distraction. Names of characters, places, events, organizations and locations are all creations of the author’s imagination for this fictitious setting.
Any resemblance to persons living, dead, or reanimated is coincidental. The opinions expressed are those of the characters and should not be confused with any of the authors, since the characters and the authors tend to disagree a lot.
