The Ibara

The Ibara (or in Common: The Thorns) are the Johin Queensguard.
They patrol the streets and form the Johin's military. All male Johin are required to join the army for 2 years when they reach young adulthood (usually between 18-24 years for humans and other races with similar lifespans and around 90-110 for elves and dwarves).
The Thorns have different coloured armour depending on their rank, with plain grey-brown armour being reserved for recruits. The armour is made of a specially treated and very compact type paper which provides equivalent protection as scale armour. This material is known as Keob and the exact manufacturing process is a well guarded secret.
