The Kamuy

The Johin deities are genderless concepts more than actual deities, represented by their implements or their ideals instead of any physical forms. The Johin have a belief that only monks and the royal family have a right to speak their Kamuy’s names. Their names can be written by the masses, but they cannot speak their names, so most people use their titles instead.   Some of these deities are believed to exist in opposition to each other, and many a scholar has argued over the possibility for a person to solely follow in the wake of only one deity’s travel through space and time. The general consensus is no. But people do try. The Kamuy are generally associated with the colour yellow, hence only those of the faith and the royal family can wear this colour.
