The Mazarines

The House of the Diffracted are a group of monks who train under a mysterious deity known to them as Ninurta, The Protector. They live and operate almost exclusively on the island of Yzil, and their colours are maroon with accents of cobalt blue. Their symbol is a scorpion tail around a lion head, blue on a red field.

The Mazarines

They are also known as the Mazarines, and they mostly just stay on Yzil and keep the island safe, as well as maintain some form of law and order between the villagers and visitors. The Mazarines all live and train at a huge temple called The House of the Diffracted , which also functions as a sort of hospital or apothecary for the local islanders.
The high ranking monks of the House are called Keepers, with the highest ranking monk given the title of Sharur. Though many Mazarines remain on their home island, they are still are known to have outposts on the furthest points on Elyria, far from their home on Yzil in the Sunlight Isles.
Their credo is “Fly Free, Fly Far, But Never Fly Away”
