History
Relationships
Clydon tries to remain neutral in all conflicts amongst the gods. However, he keeps close relations with
Eventa as he sees himself as the shepherd of all those who fall in battle and it is his duty to ensure their souls are brought to Eventa and not desecrated by the taint of undeath. Because of this, he considers himself as Eventa's loyal servant, though Eventa considers him more of a kindred spirit.
Appearance
Clydon appears as he did as a mortal. He appears as a sarlonian man with black hair, yellow eyes, and olive skin. He is also tall for a human man and well-muscled. He wears full plate over an orange tunic and dark olive trousers. He also wears an orange cape.
Church of Clydon
As the god of war, most of Clydon’s followers are warriors and soldiers. Since war affects a great many people, Clydon takes all comers, though people who fall into extreme alignments tend to favor other warrior gods such as Adon, Alene, Breana, Rhuxaros, Surtr, and Ymir.
Clergy
Clydon’s clergy are all fierce warriors, champions and clerics alike. The clergy are not particularly organized and they often form moderately sized bands (20-50 faithful) and sell their services as mercenaries, each band having a couple clerics and a handful of champions, while the rest is made up of other kinds of warriors. All members of the clergy wear an orange sash over their tabard and armor with a bronze clasp depicting Clydon’s symbol
Temples and Shrines
Temples to Clydon are few and far between, really only appearing in tumultuous areas where laying warriors to rest is a common occurrence. However, most barracks, mercenary halls, and military academies have a priest that maintains a shrine or chapel dedicated to Clydon.
Additionally, most military camps will have a band of priests of Clydon as camp followers, though, unless under a mercenary contract, they will not partake in any battles, instead only laying to rest those who cannot be resurrected. There is an unspoken rule of war that when priests of Clydon are laying the dead to rest, that anyone who lays a hand on them will be severely punished.
