Eventa

Eventa (ee-VEHN-ta) is the goddess of time, though most associate her more with birth, life, death, and fate. Eventa is the Keeper of the Great Wheel, the cosmic loom that weaves time into the Pattern. She is a divine being that was born at the creation of the universe and is one of the original nine deities.

Relationships

Eventa is the sister of Elys, Surtr, Uranus, and Ymir.

Eventa maintains amicable relations with all deities and vice versa, as all souls of the dead go to her before being sent to the afterlife. The only exception is Zolena who wishes to end the Pattern and destroy the Wheel, though Eventa is very subtle in her attempts to subvert her; and Clydon, who she sees as an ally her duty of shepherding the souls of the departed, though Clydon prefers to think of himself as Eventa’s servant.

Appearance

Eventa appears as a pale woman with silver hair and diamond eyes. She wears a white, knee-length robe trimmed with black, as well as black trousers and black leather boots.

Church of Eventa

Eventa is mostly seen as the goddess of life and death, thus most of her followers are those that deal in birth, such as doctors, nurses, and midwives, or with the dead, such as morticians and gravediggers. As well, those that keep the undead at bay like to favor Eventa as undeath is abhorrent to her.

Most people will say a prayer to Eventa at some point in their lives, even if she is not their patron, as prayers to Eventa are said to aid in the healthy birth of a child and survival of the mother during birth, and prayers to Eventa help to allow the dying to ease their passing.

Clergy

Eventa’s clergy is numerous, but relatively unorganized. The clergy is primarily comprised of clerics and oracles, with the clerics often acting as morticians and performing funeral rites for the deceased. The oracles, on the other hand, are scribes of prophesies, writing down their interpretations of their visions.

Though not as numerous, the temple keeps around a number of champions in order to aid the priests in dispatching undead and protecting them if they need to travel to deliver rites.

Temples and Shrines

Each nation has only one dedicated temple to Eventa, a large cathedral in the capital. However, chapels and shrines to Eventa are present in any place that deals with healing or tending to the dying, such as hospitals, sanatoriums, or even small clinics.
