Chapter 8: The Exterminators Part 1
General Summary
On the 3rd of Abarat our heros agreed to meet with Grak after work so he could bring them to the entrance to the sewers where folks were going missing. After Jacquora rested and the others visited the alchemical shop of Bubble & Brew to pick up a few healing potions, they met with the goblin father to be lead to their mission. He brought them to a low point of Clover Valley where they descended, some more gracefully than others, into the tunnels beneath the city. The found their way to a small chamber where they were attacked by four sewer oozes. After defeating them, they continued on through the tunnel. They found some interesting objects and potions before happening upon a body of one of the city maintenance workers. It appeared that their body had been drained of blood. The object included a small jade dog with ruins etched along the edge, a truth potion, and another potion that possibly begins with the word "Eagle."
They continued following a small blood trail until they came to a large chamber supported by large pillars. Within this chamber they found several bodies, some of them drained, some of them not. They also noticed that on the far end of the chamber there was a portion of the wall that didn't quite look right. As they discussed what to do, two of the bodies burst apart and revealed two large bubbling masses of gelatinous ooze comprised of blood and viscera.
