Thydona Ezohr (Tie-doe-na Eh-zor)

General Information

Not much is known in the Empire about Thydona Ezohr beyond her involvement with The Unity. It is understood that she was a tiefling elven woman but beyond that her appearance is unknown save that she was blue-skinned. There are no surviving portraits of her in the Empire. She was the leader of a faction of rebellions that proved to be Loras' greatest opponents. She, along with a score of other dark mages, erected the impossibly tall walls that surround Ilythyra as a stronghold for their rebellion.   In Ilythyra, she is usually portrayed in her sainthood in the Church of Ilyth as a tall, strong, elven tiefling woman. She is depicted holding a sword and her symbol, three drops of water, each encircling the next. This is also the symbol for the city. She is venerated there as a martyr and a powerful magic user, sometimes given the status of a god or demigod. She is also worshipped heavily among the royal family in Ilythyra.    It was her magical machinations that caused the great disaster at Arnsholdi which led to the formation of Helvater. It was also her magic that proved to be Loras' downfall on the plains before Ilythyra. However, this same magic that formed the inland sea that surrounds Ilythyra not only destroyed Loras and his forces, but also was the cause of her death.   Among Emanii, tieflings are now often called "Touched by Thydona" due to their association with Thydona. Additionally, magic users are sometimes - quite archaically - referred to as "Thydonites."   For about a month, she communicated with the heros to collaborate with them to release her soul from the stone in which it was imprisoned in the National Museum of Emaniquora. After freeing her, she joined the party.

History

She was born on the 27th of Abarat 455 B.U.   Thydona grew up as an orphan in Athelis, now called Lorisen. She grew up in the extremely poor neighborhood called Cliffside. At one time, she was friends with Loras Hamonet but they had a falling out when she openly disagreed with his methods of uniting his Empire as adults after he was crowned the ruler.   After coming of age, she began travelling the world. At some point during her travels she adopted a baby snowy Owlbear that she trained to ride into battle. She also happened upon an ancient city in the mountains where she learned many spells from a library within.   During Loras' seige of Arnsholdi she aided the city in fighting against the Empirical armies. Something happened that resulted in the creation of Helvater and contributed to Loras' distrust of magic-users.   During The Unity Period, she and other mages created the city of Ilythyra as a safe haven for magic-users. She sacrificed herself for the city to end a seige. Her patron, Ilyth, caused a sea to form and for Thydona's soul to be trapped in the stone for 500 years.   She was eventually released from this stone and has since returned to Ilythyra. She has also informed the group that she intends to travel to figure out what is going on in the world and why the walls between planes seem to be thinning.
