House Llyran

Once a minor house in Camaerith, House Llyran has been lead to a position of great power by its leader, Lady Inmera Llyran. While still holding many of their Camaerithian values and strengths, House Llyran has become an ambitious and militaristic political body under Lady Llyran's guidance. And, of course, House Llyran founded Alleriath with House Allery with the signing of the Pact of Twin Blood in 513 AR.

Roots in The Arakhor Tathra

House Llyran was founded in the Years of Strife following The Reckoning. Though it never held a seat on the Camaerithian Circle, House Llyran was a clan of ambitious and strong-willed elves from its inception. Its members were almost always Arms of Mithril, and when the Orakgran War broke out, House Llyran set itself apart as a clan of Camaerithians devoted to victory and honor above all else.   However, in the wake of the Orakgran War and the Camaerithian Concord, House Llyran and its leadership saw an opportunity for growth. Camaerith underwent the Great Expansion, during which time it expanded beyond the boughs of the Wild Heart and began resettling the Arakhor Tathra. House Llyran jockeyed for power and growth during this time, but found little success. So, Lady Inmera hatched a new plan: uproot and go to greener pastures.   Thus did House Llyran leave its Camaerithian holdings behind and sail for Drumis. There, they made landfall in Cambolton and trekked north. In the eastern foothills of the Gloumeda Mountains, they settled Llyn in 442 AR.

Founding Alleriath

When House Allery settled along the Lunancaster River to the southeast of House Llyran's territory in the late fifth century AR, tensions rose immediately. Within a decade, House Llyran and Allery fought no less than six times in bloody skirmishes. House Llyran debated whether or not to wipe out Allery's fledgling holdings, but decided against it. Instead, they left the Yathra Silthamans well enough alone and watched.   While Allery struggled for several years, they eventually settled down and built tall walls and strong trade routes. Thus, House Llyran struck; they had waited for Allery to settle the Lunancaster for them so they could conquer it after with pre-existing infrastructure.   Despite the surprise assault, Allery withstood Llyran's offensive for three years in a conflict now known as the War of Twin Fury. Eventually, House Llyran came to respect their Allerian enemies, and so a pact was offered. Allery accepted, and in 513 AR, the Pact of Twin Blood was signed and Houses Llyran and Allery banded together to form Alleriath.

From greatness we come; to greatness we go.

Fettered Ambition

Although House Llyran is no doubt stronger and safer with the combined strength of House Allery, the fact of the matter is that their ambitions are both unaligned and unequal. While Allery is happy to be settled, prosperous, and powerful (and proving that strength to Obrasea), Llyran desires more: more land, more power, and more citizenry. Perhaps this is a reflection of Llyran's Camaerithian roots; they knew contentment and stagnancy for so many years that they now endlessly pursue the opposite.   Whatever the root, Llyran's ambitions in the Cradle of the Lost and beyond are fettered only by their duties to Alleriath. How long those fetters will hold is anyone's guess.
