New Year Celebration

Celebrated on the 1st of Timic, this day marks the official end of winter and the beginning of spring, as well as the ushering in of the new year in The Little Kingdom. It is celebrated through out the land with feasts and party's, and many consider it a tradition to get knockout drunk on this night.

History

The celebration began as a way to welcome in the spring and the new year, and has remained true to this purpose quite well, though many younger people use it as an excuse to get drunk and party. Its thought to have been celebrated all the way back in the first century AA.

Execution

The first thing many people will do is thank the past year for its bounty and new experiences, and meditate on what they learned over the year. They will then spend the day planning for the coming year, and will have a feast in celebration of the end of winter that night, where traditionally a lot of alcohol is served.

Components and tools

Many families in the north will place a acorn inside of a snowball and bring it inside that night. When the snowball has melted from around the acorn, it is considered the symbolic beginning of spring. Those in the south are less likely to practice this tradition, as there is less often snow in the south at this point in the year.
