Akecheta Wicka
Commander Akecheta Wicka
Akecheta Wicka was born into the Wicka Tribe at the height of its power and influence over the Sypi Confederacy. He was raised as a warrior in the ranks of the tribal militia, and built a reputation for skill in combat and conflict. He proved his tactical elegance at a young age in several early border skirmishes with the Sihka and Mor tribes to the south. Eventually he married and settled down within the tribe, raising several children and otherwise becoming a noteworthy if quiet administrator for the tribe and for the High Chief himself in Wofslar.
Everything changed with the outbreak of the Sypi Civil War. The Sihka were backed by far more numerous forces from the Church of the One Sun and the kingdoms of Bamard, Losana, and Forard. The discipline of these forces and training proved a greater challenge than any enemy the people of the Confederacy had faced. Therefore, Akecheta was the first to propose to the new High Chief that some semblance of a regular military force should be created for the Confederacy. He was assigned to assemble the forces, and while he only led them into a single disastrous battle, the new Sypi Unitary Brigade was his child.
Eventually Akecheta delegated responsibility for leadership to younger and more experienced combatant volunteers from other nations, but he retained administrative oversight. He has continued in this position, although he has recently begun failing in his mental and physical health since falling down stairs in 1036. His lieutenants act in his name, but it is a commonly known secret that he is currently simply a figurehead for the brigade and most do not expect him to continue much longer.
