Mayor Drakon Terzis

Drakon Terzis is the current appointed mayor of the town of Etheridge. He was born to local modest family of landowners, possessing several farms outside of the town limits. The family succeeded in providing for the people of the community and were fairly well respected among both the upper classes and the lower classes. Thanks to the wealth of his family, Drakon was able to receive a quality education in a local school, helping to elevate him from among his peers. He was very well liked among his classmates and proved himself a rising star among the people.
The popularity of Drakon continued into his adulthood, and he made friends easily among the public, and proved to be an able salesman for his family's produce. The outbreak of the Wingo War proved another boon for him, because while his family's farms were burned by dwarven and elven raiders, he was able to insert himself into the public eye by organizing a militia. Decrying some of the nobility for their failure to protect the people of Etheridge, he became the elected leader of the town militia which responded to the occasional raids upon the walls. While these skirmishes were minor in the grand scheme of the war, Drakon's fame soared among the people.
After the war ended, the previous mayor of Etheridge fell into some disrepute, and seeing a chance both at revenge and shifting blame, the nobility of the region conspired to elect Drakon as the new mayor. He was appointed to the position with much applause and fanfare, and almost immediately his former patrons turned upon him. A vicious campaign of rumors and misinformation spread throughout town, and within a year, the applause had turned to jeers. After another year those jeers turned to stones and assaults. 
In 1037, the first assassination attempt took place, as those who had lost their homes and farms during the war had yet to find compensation. The fourth attempt a few months later resulted in the death of Drakon's eldest child. Encouraged by the wealthy, Drakon began using the town coffers to protect his own well being, and that of his family. What was left of his family estate was pillaged by a riotous mob, and he has remained in a fortified and secret location in town with exception of a handful of public appearances since. With his nefarious patrons promising retribution if he should ever attempt to flee Alsona, Drakon appears to have been trapped, with only enemies gathered constantly around him.
