Sheriff Salud Hela
Salud Hela is the Sheriff of the town of Wesaweald. He was born in the town to a humble family of furniture makers and artisans, having crafted some of the finest chairs and tables built in the town out of local lumber. He was therefore afforded every opportunity in life to make something of himself, with his parents being highly supportive of his every ambition growing up. He excelled in his courses, and was instilled with a sense of moderation and virtue from a child, seeking fairness in all things. It was a rude awakening to find the world did not meet his high expectations.
Salud immediately began seeking out a career as a judge, and applied to join the sheriff's office in Wesaweald. His prior education and knowledge proved acceptable to the Sheriff of Wesaweald at the time and he furthered his education in law at the dime of the Sheriff. Upon completing the training in law, Salud was immediately appointed as one of the new judges of Wesaweald, passing sentence upon those arrested and convicted by the sheriffs. He was found to be a fair practioner of law and gave no quarter to anyone viewed as a hardened criminal, while proving lenient to those forced to crime by desperation. He was popular among the guards for his service, and worked closely with many to make sure that fair and equitable distribution of law was occuring.
It is no surprise that in 1024, Salud was elected to the position of Sheriff in Wesaweald from among the guards and other judges. Working with the new mayor, the two began to turn a corner on corruption and crime in the community. He has continued a policy of evenhanded enforcement of all laws and legislation, never sparing anyone due to social class or wealth.
