Y'reath Skydew
Headwoman Y'reath Skydew
Y'reath Skydew was raised among a family of typical forest elves, without any extravagance beyond that which usual elves were accustomed to. With most of her needs provided for by her family, Y'reath's journey to determine her future and skillset took an entire human lifetime, as she sought out what would most appeal to her as a profession. It was when she ventured below Tenashi itself, into the forest floor that she finally discovered her true passion. After speaking with a forest gnome, she learned about the delicate balances of nature and the beauty within the woods. The gnome turned out to be a druid, and Y'reath packed her handful of belongings and departed her home to learn the ways of the wilderness.
She traveled with the gnome to the legendary Druids' Table, located among the wild centaur lands to the north. Staying there for some time, she helped save the Table from the deprecations of a centaur raid, and learned extensive skills and abilities from those residing there. Following this triumph, Y'reath was rewarded with a rare seed from the druids, one which would grow an exotic fruit with healing capabilities no long found naturally within the fields of Emicara. Returning home in a thoughtful state, Y'reath began pondering how best to use these skills to demonstrate her worth to the kingdom.
When returning to the court of the queen, Y'reath made an impassioned appeal to the monarch, calling for the establishment of a new outpost or center to grow exotic plant life like that which she recovered from the gnomes. She argued that while the elves could provide nearly anything in limited abundance in the trees, there were plenty of plants that could prove valuable to society, from curing rare illnesses to providing food otherwise unknown to the forest elves. After her presentation Y'reath was granted some land within the kingdom, and the support of several of the more powerful forest elf wizards.
The new outpost of Dixi was established, and Y'reath would spend the next several centuries developing the capabilities of her new community, and as the decades passed, she ever more rarely returned to Tenashi. She welcomed the forest gnomes to settle within the confines of the new walls, unheard of among the elves. The settlement proved successful and the crops grow became ever more in demand among the people of Tenashi. This brought great stature to Y'reath, and she continues to enjoy this position, breeding plants and raising new crops while sponsoring younger elves to enter into the wide world and bringing her the flora they can find elsewhere.
