Dwarf
Dwarves, sometimes called the Stout Folk and Deep Folk, are a humanoid race characterized by their shorter stature and wide builds.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Dwarves are a short race, as their name implies, standing from 4'3"–4'11" on average. What dwarves lack in height they make up for in bulk. On average they're about as heavy as humans, and they can weigh anywhere from about 160–220 lbs. Dwarven males are a bit taller and heavier than their female counterparts. Like humans, dwarves had a wide variety of skin, eye, and hair colors, typically pale among shield dwarves and deeply tanned or brown amongst gold dwarves. Hazel eyes are common throughout the race, with blue, brown, or green eyes found infrequently.
Perhaps an interesting trait is that dwarves are known for having a large amount of hair, both body and head hair, that grows in thick. This has led to many different cultural expressions that vary across the continent, but hair is a consistent theme in any culture with dwarves.

Growth Rate & Stages
Dwarves were a long-lived race, though not so much as elves, and reached physical maturity somewhat later than humans. A dwarf reaches full maturity once they reach the age of 50. Dwarves aged much like humans but over a longer period of time, remaining vigorous well past 150 years. Most dwarves lived to see their bicentennial and a few lived to be over 400. On average, they live about 350 years.
Additional Information
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Most commonly dwarves are found in the Nuraeven Kingdom to the north. However there are small numbers of them spread throughout the continent, and they will usually be found where there is rich crafting culture.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Senses and Abilities
Dwarves are unusually tough for humanoids, in more ways than one. Dwarven stomachs are resistant to virtually all poisons and it takes less effort for a dwarf to get back on their feet than other races. Interestingly enough this also applies to alcohol. Dwarves also have dense bodies and are difficult to push around as a result, as well as having the capacity to bear loads that other races might find hindering with little ill effect. Dwarves also have a sense about them that few races do, a preternatural awareness of their surroundings. Dwarves can see in the dark, out to about 60 feet. Many dwarves have an affinity for the caverns in which they live, possessing a knack for recognizing unusual patterns in stonework that could seem almost supernatural at times. Many believe this to be due to the dwarven belief that they were created by Gond the god of craft, or Moradin as the dwarves of Nuraeven call them, deep within the veins of the earth to craft.Civilization and Culture

Major Language Groups and Dialects
Dwarvish is full of hard consonants and guttural sounds, and those characteristics spill over into whatever other language a native speaker might speak. The language originates in the Nuraeven Kingdom which is the land of the dwarves, and it is rarely heard outside the country's border.
