Nuraeven Kingdom

Tucked away in the frozen peninsula of the Frostfang Mountains the Nuraeven Kingdom is the home of the dwarves. Inhospitable by nature most of the settled land is below the earth.

Structure

Led by Queen Thea of the Boulderhorn Clan, the kingdom is considered to be a matriarchal executive monarchy, meaning that the monarch retains much power however they are slightly tempered by the assembly, a council formed of the matriarch from each clan of the kingdom which at last count was over 200. A few of the more prominent clans are: Ralbrarog, Strobreck, Boulderblade, Frozenforge, Matguhan, Burrowblood, Thrallovek, and Bloodbeard.

Public Agenda

The folks of Nuraevia tend to keep to themselves in most ways simply wishing to be left alone. Their only goal outside of their borders that is widely known is their drive for the reclamation of The Queen's Highway through the Explorer's Guild.

Demography and Population

Settlements range in size mostly based on geographic locations. Those on the surface tend to be much smaller rarely having a population above 500 while those under the surface could swell in size to several thousands. Most surface towns are closer to the coastline where the weather is slightly more forgiving and resources are not as scarce.
The demographics of the kingdom tend to be far more monoracial than other countries. Dwarves make up the majority at almost 90%, while humans and dragonborn make up most of the rest of the 10%

Foreign Relations

Officially there is very little contact between the government and that of other countries. Only the Varanasi Council and the Lamina Kingdom have any kind of diplomatic relations and mainly they are for trade purposes. The Myrdin Empire to the south has an antagonistic relationship with Nuraevia as they constantly prod attempting to find weaknesses to exploit and spread their empire northward.
