Silvanus, god of wild nature (sihl-VANN-us)
Silvanus is the deity of wild nature, standing in contrast to the more ordered, agrarian nature represented by the goddess Chauntea, goddess of life and bounty. To the Díne and many cultures related to the fey he is also known as Skerrit.
His old form is known as Old Father, and took the appearance of an old, bearded human male face, either floating midair among trees or sprouting from the trunk of an especially large and old tree. His flesh in this form was always brown, gray, and fissured like old wood.
His young form is known as the Young Strider. This is a young, long-limbed humanoid male, with particularly long legs, dressed in a suit of armor made of leaves and wielding a wooden mallet. He most often assumes this form when a sacred grove is threatened or a circle of druids is attacked during their worship.
Another form he is known to manifest as is called the Horned Hunter, an entity similar in appearance to the Archfey Cerunnos. This form is an always silent man with burning white eyes, sporting a set of stag antlers and shaggy brown fur that is almost bark-like. This form always appears among the trees, often just to indicate something by a gesturing, nodding, or pointing before disappearing.
And lastly as a strong, 12 foott long male centaur with chestnut-brown hair, and garbed in a chainmail that changes its color according to the deity's whims. This form was the one known as Skerrit.
When it comes to nature itself, he cares greatly for maintaining a balance between growth and decay, water and drought, fire and ice — the natural cycle of life. This is considered to be his dogma and he is emotionally distant in regards to its necessity leading some to view him as heartless, though in reality he values all life. He has a special hatred for those who use fire carelessly or with deliberate intention to cause destruction.
To his clerics, Skerrit manifests himself as forest creatures that behave unusually during the customary mock hunts that his priests participate in. He can and will often temporarily possess forest creatures and plants to perform his will.
Many of his followers believe him to be a benevolent, compassionate, and merciful deity, but nevertheless a strong and skilled hunter and protector. He maintains the equilibrium in the forests, allowing all forest creatures to fulfill their natural roles; he feeds the hunted and grants the hunters their prey. Perhaps this difference in how he is viewed is due to cultural differences.

Personality
Typical of nature deities, some describe Silvanus as being wild and unpredictable, much like nature itself. He is chiefly concerned with nature itself, specifically wild nature, in both its natural beauty and fierce savagery. He cares very little for maintaining a proper balance with civilization, being wrathful towards those who threaten wild places, and pays no attention to the machinations of mortals or other deities. When it comes to nature itself, he cares greatly for maintaining a balance between growth and decay, water and drought, fire and ice — the natural cycle of life.
