Giradina Academy
Giradina Academy, although is called an academy, is more of a general name for the school district for Erazim. It involves three levels of education: Foundational School, Primary School, and Intermediary School. The University of Erazim is not within this group, and instead is further north of the main district.
Structure
History
When Giradina Academy was first established in the A.H. era, it was specifically a magic academy to train students in the proper magical arts and to set them up for success in adventuring or other careers. However, with the downfall of the Kingdoms and interest in technology growing, it became a more generalized school that involved some magic but was more mundane. Science, advandced maths, and engineering classes began being taught and magic became taught as self-defense but still was required learning for a long time to at least understand how to use it. Adventuring classes became obsolete.
Levels of Education
Foundational School
Ages 6-8, levels 1, 2, and 3. This is to reinforce what children were taught at home, which is how to read and write. During this time, they are taught basic maths, science, history, and language. They are tested in level 1 as to whether they are dyscalculic and dyslexic. By level 3, their progress in maths is considered and they are given the choice of continuing with maths or not, and not forced into continuing if they do not want to. If they want to continue learning science without the maths aspect, they have the option to look into branches of science that do not require maths.
Primary School
Ages 8-13, levels 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8...
Intermediary School
Ages 13-18/19, levels 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13. The human equivalent schooling range would be high school. This is when goals for the immediate future are made, whether to head off to University, join the End'orian Military (voluntarily when they are 21), take time off, or explore other paths to their life. No decisions are absolutely necessary by this point, but it is encouraged to have a general idea at least.
