As a sailor in the Yonzu navy, Jarl mastered the arts of navigation and ship-to-ship combat. During his service, Jarl participated in numerous campaigns to expand the empire's influence across Elos.
He was taken prisoner during the liberation of Othard by Zeva Moto's rebels and heroes from Eucitas. As a prisoner, he was given a choice: join the rebels and use his knowledge of the Yonzu Empire to help bring about its downfall or face execution. Jarl chose the latter, and agreed to sail the heroes to Freeport on his ship, "The Starweaver."
