Himmoch, Deciduous
Basic Information
Anatomy
This race looks entirely like sentient plants. The deciduous subtype are a strong sturdy creature. They have thick cores armored with tough bark and are over twice the height of the shrubs. Deciduous grow strong branches only on the upper half of their body. Two of these sturdy branches have opposable hands and are sprouted lower on the trunk. Four long forked branches function as legs for the Himmoch.
Biological Traits
False Disguise, Deciduous: While motionless gains +50 Hide while standing among deciduous trees unarmored. They gain +15 Hide instead while standing among coniferous trees unarmored
Knowledge of Nature: Due to a natural heritage, Himmoch gain a +12 Knowledge(Nature).
Leaf Shield: As an action, the Himmoch can turn one of its hands into a Large Leaf Shield with no ADP. In doing so the Himmoch takes 3 Damage. If the Himmoch is holding anything in the hand that transforms it drops onto the ground. The Himmoch can do this as reaction if they take 9 damage instead. To revert the shield into a usable hand again is a full-round action and causes the Himmoch to take an additional 3 damage.
Lumbering: Due to a tree’s large and hulking stature, sneaking is harder to accomplish. They have -20 to Move Silently rolls.
Regional Appearance: Himmoch take the form of a common native foliage of their birth region. If there is no native foliage of their type, take nearest native foliage in next region over. They do not gain any of the special properties of that species of plant. (ie. a Healing leaf or, a sap useful in poisons…) They gain an additional +25 to Hide among the chosen species.
Rural Heritage: Being native to the countryside gives +12 Survival(Rural).
Sturdy Bark Hide: Due to a Himmoch’s sturdy bark, they are always considered to be wearing Cured Wood Armor. If the Himmoch equips any other armor, this natural armor is ignored. This armor does not impede any ability that requires the Himmoch to be unarmored.
Tree Wisdom: Long living trees pass on knowledge from generation to generation. Random snippets of information have been passed on to you your entire life. Whenever you make a General History check you may reroll. You must take the second roll.
Wooden: Himmoch are the Plant subtype instead of the Flesh subtype. They gain +50 on Swim checks from natural buoyancy.
Genetics and Reproduction
The Deciduous variety of Himmochs reproduce through a botanical pollen and flowering system. During the spring season, a Himmoch will produce flowers along their branch tips. After successful fertilization, Himmoch produce small resilient eggs that grow into Himmoch after planting in soil.
Growth Rate & Stages
The Deciduous variety of Himmochs grow slowly, they reach adulthood within 30-40 years of growth.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Himmoch's gather sustenance through the process of photosynthesis and need to root into soil each night in order to absorb water and other nutrients.
Biological Cycle
A Himmoch grows a leafy coat in each spring season as well as buds and flowers. Throughout the summer season the Himmoch's leaves are strong and green. During autumn, a Himmoch will shed its coat and throughout the winter months a Himmoch's branches are bare.
