Dragonborn

The newest arrivals of the humanoids of Endunia, these Draconic people were created by the Evil Chromatic Dragons during the Dragon War against the Good Metallic Dragons. Dragonborn were used as foot soldiers against Bahamut, god of the Good Dragons, and his armies of mortals. The Evil Dragons and Dragonborn often pillaged Dwarven mountain citadels and Elven palaces, coveting their wealth. The Good Dragons managed to entice some of the Dragonborn to their side, but not enough to quench the flames of war. The war dragged on for generations, leaving deep scars on the land and its peoples. Eventually, Tiamat, goddess of the Evil Dragons, was banished to the Nine Hells, and the Dragons, both Good and Evil, dispersed. The Dragonborn were no longer controlled by their creators, and their destiny left up to them.   Dragonborn can be any color Dragons come in, but do not necessarily share their personalities or alignment. They are covered in thick scales, like their creators, but none have wings and many do not have tails. They live about as long as humans, although some have been known to enter trances similar to a coma, which can serve to prolong their life until they are awoken. Dragonborn have a legend that one day one of them will ascend to true Dragonhood, and many of their leaders seek to attain that honor. Some have established feudal nations neighboring the humans, while others roam the continents as nomads, but all have a knack for amassing wealth, many in hopes of becoming the new god of the Dragonborn. They are a secretive people, not often sharing their knowledge with other races, unless the price is great.   The Draconic people are not the most devout worshippers of any pantheon, although most revere Bahamut, now, or the gods of Dwarves, Elves or humans, but very few follow Tiamat openly in the modern era. Dragonborn respect the traditions of their families and clans more so than those of the priesthoods or civilizations. They make capable warriors, particularly when fighting with members of their clan, but are not as organized or regimented as the armies of the other races. Even still, many sell their services as mercenaries or adventurers, and dwell in the great cities of the world. When Dragonborn devote themselves to a craft, they can reach a mastery that rivals even the Dwarves or Gnomes, who often seek out the Dragonborn’s monastic craftsmen orders for hidden knowledge and techniques.
