Dwarf

The dwarves are more isolationist, and largely keep to themselves in their mountain homes. They value logic and hold much more democratic ideals than other races do culturally. They are genius miners and crafters, and they've developed these skills through living in the mountains for thousands of years. Dwarves view gnomes as a sort of sister species, much like humans and halflings  .

Anatomy

Dwarves evolved a fairly unique capability on account of the millennia spent underground, in that they are 98% efficient at extracting nutrients from what they consume. Unlike other natural species, dwarves only urinate once per year, and never defecate. They also evolved lungs that could breathe even the worst atmosphere, as underground mines often fill with gases that are toxic to other species like carbon dioxide, methane, nitrogen oxides, etc.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Dwarves, due to the extraordinary efficiency of their digestive and execretory systems, require extraordinary amounts of alcohol and other drugs in order to feel any effects. It is said a dwarf needs five times as much alcohol to even feel drunk compared to a human, and there has never been a documented case of a dwarf passing out due to drunkenness.
