Queen Gwenllian Gryphonheart (a.k.a. Gwen)

Born of a poor family in Fairfeather, Gwenllian discovered she had a talent for magic.  She apprenticed with the Arcane University in Spyre to learn her craft and made a name for herself as a skilled conjurer, although she had no ability with illusion.  Impressed with her talents, Headmaster Thomas Grey brought her along on one of his official visits to Steadwick.  While at court, she caught the eye of Nicolas Gryphonheart.  Having never seen the King before and not realizing who he was, she speaks with him honestly and with enthusiasm about her art.  Their love blossoms true and they are wed.
Gwenllian Gryphonheart ruled well as queen, advising her husband as best she could.  She gave birth to two daughters who took after their parents.  Catherine, who displayed a skill with a sword unseen before, and Beatrice, whose skill with magic rivaled her mother's.
While travelling with her daughter Beatrice from Spyre to Steadwick after speaking to the Arcane University, her entourage was waylaid by brigands and both she and her daughter were slain.
