Basic Information

Anatomy

Slightly smaller than their mountain dwarf cousins, being closer in height to gnomes and halflings of the southeastern part of the world. Much like their other Dwarven cousins, Hill Dwarfs are very sturdy and hearty.
DM Note: +2 to Constitution, Dwarven Resilience, advantage on saving throws against Poison and Resistant to Poison Damage.

Biological Traits

Slimmer and shorter than their hearty mountain cousins, hill dwarves are no less hardy, but tend to be more introspective than either of their cousin races, and leaner to deal with hunting in the open of hill surrounded valleys and glades.
DM Note:
Dwarven Toughness Your hit point maximum increases by 1, and it increases by 1 every time you gain a level.

Growth Rate & Stages

Hill Dwarves consider their children to be children until the age of 50 when a Berrogeita is held. This is a celebration where they are given a clan name by clan elders and generally are gifted their first heirloom weapon. The exception to this is in developed countries with education systems, where the heirloom weapon is given on the first day of an entrance to a school of adventuring or magic.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Hill Dwarves are omnivorous foragers much like the halfling, gnomes, and humans they lived in proximity to. Traditionally dwarves eat on roots and tubers as opposed to high hanging fruits, and small game like rabbits, squirrels, and occasionally something like deer.
